7:33pm GMT+1: Muscadet, Bretagne, Cidre

Morning tasting in Muscadet Sèvre et Maine; a cold tour of three varied terroirs; bright, clear Melon de Bourgogne for tasting. Drive up the coast towards Brest; landscape turns British, roadsigns split into two languages (French/Breton). Tasting at a cidrerie by the Brittany coast; three ciders, one AOC Cornouaille, 50 types of apples; a look at the harvest and pressing; delicious Pommeau, cider (sparkling), and juice. Drive 30 minutes back inland to other end of Cornouaille AOC; three more ciders, off-dry, delicious. Evening in Quimper, two more cidreries tomorrow.
